September – A Review of the Past Year

past

At our September meeting, we will be celebrating the end of our past year and planning for our new year.  We’ve been taking pictures at all the circuit shows, county fair and some of the clinics we went to.  Slide shows are fairly to easy to put together so everyone will get to enjoy the pictures.

Meetings are always better with food so we might have some snacks or maybe even a pizza. Healthy snacks are the best but sometimes it’s fun to make something yummy that’s horse related like these horse cupcakes!  We could either assemble them ahead of time or bring the supplies and let the kids make their own.  They’re fairly easy to put together.  Make sure to take pictures if you let the kids make them!

New this year, in September, our County 4-H will be having an Open House/Fun Night.  Any community club, county-wide club, or project that wants to have a table is welcome to set one up to try and boost enrollment.  You can make a poster about your club or project and have some type of game.  We decided that making a poster to show off our club and planning a little game for that will be the perfect project for our September meeting!

Planning your meeting

  1. Introductions and Hellos.  During this time, ask the kids if they’ve had a chance to do any horse related things since the last time you were together.  They will probably be very excited to tell you all about it!
  2. Normally, this is the point where we would do something educational but since this was our last meeting of the year, we skipped this part.
  3. The next thing we did was watched our slide show.  It was a lot of fun!  The kids enjoyed seeing some of the older pics again and then seeing the new ones that I took.
  4. After that, we worked on the poster for the Open House night.  The kids did a great job!
